Personal injury lawyer Sam Johnson, a Lufkin, Texas native and managing partner of Mike Love & Associates, LLC, began his legal career in Houston, where he practiced medical malpractice defense while working at a health law litigation firm. Prior to beginning his legal career, Sam earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree from the University of Houston Law School. Sam graduated summa cum laude and received the University Scholars Award during his time as an undergraduate at Stephen F. Austin. While in law school, Sam made a name for himself as a top competitor in several national mock trial competitions, most notably the National Tournament of Champions.

Sam arrived at Mike Love & Associates, LLC at the perfect time. The firm’s founding partner, attorney Mike Love, was converting the firm from a general practice to focusing primarily on personal injury claims. Sam spent time clerking for personal injury law firms. After beginning his career as a medical malpractice defense attorney, he wanted to shift his focus to defending the rights of personal injury victims and their families.
In the decade since Sam began working at Mike Love & Associates, LLC, the firm has converted from general practice to 98 percent personal injury cases, with the other two percent devoted to business litigation. In addition, Sam has taken over as the firm’s managing partner, including overseeing day-to-day business operations.
